A dynamic executive and entrepreneur, Rachel Braun Scherl is committed to her clients’ success. After graduating magna cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Duke University with a B.A. in Psychology and Human Development, Rachel earned her MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
In 1992, Rachel joined Johnson & Johnson's McNeil Consumer Healthcare division, where she worked with a team to manage the company’s flagship TYLENOL® brand. During her tenure, the brand overcame multiple well-funded competitive threats to maintain its leadership. Rachel later became a principal at Marketing Corporation of America (MCA), a consultancy, where she served as lead consultant for Johnson & Johnson's global OTC, pharmaceutical and consumer products, while also managing strategic engagements for American Express and Disney.
In 1998 Rachel joined forces with longtime partner Mary Wallace Jaensch to co-found The Jannick Group, LLC/SPARK Solutions for Growth. For over 15 years, the firm has provided consulting services to start-ups as well as Fortune 100 companies including multiple divisions of Johnson & Johnson, Merck, Bayer, Deloitte and Allergan. More than 90% of core clients engage SPARK for multiple projects year after year, and on an ongoing basis.
Rachel and Mary added another chapter to their successful partnership when The Jannick Group partnered with Quaker BioVentures in 2008 to create Semprae Laboratories, Inc., a venture-backed company focused on developing and marketing women's sexual health products. As President, Rachel contributed to creating a company that provided evidence-based sexual health and wellness products, information and services for women. The company was sold to Innovus Pharmaceuticals, Inc., a specialty pharmaceutical company, in 2013.
Following the sale of Semprae, Rachel reignited SPARK Solutions for Growth with Mary, building on their entrepreneurial and operational success to bring a powerful combination of strategic skills to the serious business of growing clients’ businesses.
